Talking With the Spirits - The Bristol Spirit Lodge
This video was put together from interviews with Christine Di Nucci, the founder of the Bristol Spirit Lodge. It deals with her experiences with physical mediumship and with her work assisting the development of mediumship. We see here the way in which paranormal experiences can transform an individual's perspective on the world and inspire a desire to form new groups. Descriptions of seance phenomena and the experience of communication with a "spirit guide" are also fascinating.

Approaches to the Study of Supernatural Beliefs and Practices

The main aim of this presentation is to outline and discuss the way in which anthropology, for at least the past 150 years, has dealt with the issue of mankind’s widespread belief in supernatural themes: from religion and mysticism to witchcraft, spirit possession and mediumship. This is achieved through presenting an overview of the theoretical positions that have dominated anthropology’s discourse concerning such matters, since the discipline’s inception in the 19th century up until the present day. The overview is chronological, and so should provide an insight into the history of anthropological theory, as well as, hopefully, shedding some light on the benefits of anthropological approaches to studying the supernatural and paranormal.
Trance Recordings - Bristol Spirit Lodge
These recordings were made at the Bristol Spirit Lodge between February and April 2009. The first 3 were recorded at the regular Tuesday evening “Spirit Sanctuary” séances, while the final 6 tracks were recorded at a guest demonstration on March 14th 2009.
